Further, the actress denied dating rumors with Stu Ehrlich, who was her and Ray’s manager.

Joyce said that she needed time with herself and had the courage to express herself. She added, “I had to go away and find out what I liked, what I wanted, and what would make me happy.”

Joyce Wasn’t Keen on Following Housewifely Duties

Regarding her relationship with Ray, the actress explained that her self-confidence and self-esteem had disappeared. She expressed that she gave them away, but Ray thought Joyce was getting spoiled.

Joyce stated that she did not have the time to clean the house, make dinner, and wait for Ray. The actress added she did not intend to do that for any man. And with that went the hopes of any man wanting to be her husband.

Sadly, Joyce thought she was not living her life anymore and asked Ray to pause their relationship.

She explained that it was not his fault but was her inability to deal with their relationship. It was also Ray’s choice to break up rather than just be separated.

Further, Ray was understanding of the split and her decision to be true to herself by declaring her freedom.

In addition, there were also rumors that Joyce dated actor Randolph Mantooth, with many exclaiming they were even engaged. Nevertheless, he later cleared the confusion stating he was never engaged to her and had never even met Joyce.

The Actress Does Not Have a Daughter

Despite keeping her personal life away from the limelight, some might confuse Rosemarie Braddock DeWitt to be her daughter, considering they share the same last name. Well, that is not the case.

Rosemarie Braddock DeWitt was born on October 26, 1971, in Flushings, Queens, New York, to her mother, Rosemarie, and father, Kenny DeWitt.

Besides, Joyce was born to her father, Paul DeWitt, and mother, Norma DeWitt. As the actress has kept her personal life and family background private, not much information has been disclosed about her family.

So, Rosemarie and her family are not related to Joyce DeWitt. Further, Joyce and Rosemarie have not made any comments regarding this subject.

Joyce DeWitt Turned to Theater

Three’s Company was one of the most popular shows on television in the late 70s and early 80s. In the show, Joyce DeWitt starred as Janet alongside John Ritter as Jack and Suzanne Somers as Chrissy. However, despite her popularity, she focused her career away from TV fame.

According to the report by Best Life, the actress did not take many movie or TV roles after the end of Three’s Company. Further, after a decade of playing on-screen roles, Joyce appeared on a few episodes of Hope Island and Cybill.

During her absence, she performed on stage and in theatres around the country. Recently, the actress appeared in a musical called Scattered, Smothered & Covered Christmas

Moreover, Joyce expressed that she did not enjoy being famous and stopped acting on TV. After the end of Three’s Company, she decided to take six months off to relax. But after her observation of Hollywood behaved, she spent 12 years around the world meeting and studying under spiritual teachers around the world.

In the end, it is safe to assume Joyce did not ever have a husband or any children.
