Well, the COVID-19 pandemic spoiled Heather McMahan’s plans to marry her husband, Jeff Daniels, in 2020. Nonetheless, the comedian wanted to wait and do it right.

Heather said she had been with her husband for almost eleven years and could wait for another few months.

Married During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Like several other brides set to get married in 2020, the comedian had to rethink her wedding plans.

The venue was planned for September in Italy, but as the pandemic continued, the couple had to move from New York to Heather’s mother in Atlanta to quarantine.

This ultimately pushed the date and venue for their wedding. Heather documented living her daily life in her mom’s basement at the time.

Eventually, on December 21, 2020, after several months of waiting, Heather and her husband, Jeff, tied the knot in a civil ceremony. And they reassured their guests that the party in Italy was still happening.

The internet personality said, “I was grateful for the extra time to plan. A lot of the aesthetics of what I had originally ‘wanted’ for my 2020 wedding was completely different by 2022.”

A Fun Party in Italy

After deciding her plans for a sequel wedding, the comedian leaned into texture, color, and fun for her wedding dress.

Heather hired Nicole Spagnola and Jill Romanelli to bring her wedding vision to life. Further, Anna Moore set the tone for the wedding with an Italian-inspired invitation suite.

Besides, the comedian worked with Xay Vongphachanh of Watters for her bridal look. On the other hand, her husband got his custom wedding look, a hand-crafted tuxedo from Jon Mallen.

The celebration started with a party at Soceta Canottieri. The ceremony featured performances from several artists, which set the mood for a romantic ambiance.

At the end of the reception, Heather and Jeff cut their traditional Italian millefoglie cake and surprised the guests with a fireworks show.

Further, an after-party was held indoors with a performance by DJ Remo Giugni, trumpeter Nicola Cellai, and saxophonist Marco Caponi.

Met Her Husband in a Gay Bar

Fans and followers of the comedian might not be familiar with how the two had met. Their love story began in a gay bar in New York City 12 years ago.

Years later, after their meeting, the couple got engaged in 2019. Her husband, Jeff, proposed to the actress in the pool at the Wymara Resorts in Turks & Caicos.

Heather recalled, “Jeff pulled the ring right out of his wet swimsuit.” She added, “I gasped-not because I was surprised, but because I was afraid the ring was going to fall into the pool and be lost in the drain forever.”

Once engaged, the comedian and her husband decided to host their wedding weekend in Italy. As per Heather’s words, she wanted to get married in Florence because it was her favorite city in the world.

However, their plans would get foiled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Family Plans With Her Husband

Heather’s husband, Jeff Daniels, is a consultant at Danco Worldwide Consultant Inc. The writer’s partner went to Prem State University and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity International.

Jeff also enjoys playing golf in his free time, as he often visits the golf course at the Atlanta Athletic Club. They also have a cute Frenchy bulldog named Rigatoni, whom the couple consider their child.

It resulted in months of doctor appointments, months of shots, and fluctuating hormones. At the time, the comedian brought her fans along on her journey, cracking hilarious jokes and staying positive.

All in all, even if COVID-19 made Heather’s wedding to be shifted a little, she did have all the fun she wanted in the end.
