Reason behind Starting Good Culture

Well, Jesse Merrill was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune gut disease caused by chronic inflammation, in 2014.

But his traditional doctor said there was no cure. He was forced to take harsh prescription medications to control his symptoms for the remainder of his life.

However, he made the decision to research complementary medical procedures. He then started eating a very clean and specialized diet that comprised cultured dairy, animal protein from grass-fed animals, cooked veggies, and fruit.

Jesse’s symptoms ultimately left after the first four weeks. After living this way for three years, he entirely cured himself of the disease. This experience solidified Jesse’s conviction that food is medicine and prompted him to start Good Culture.

Brecken’s Mother Is an Author

The actor’s mother, Kristy Phillips, is an award-winning historical and contemporary romance author. She was born in the Bay Area, but as an army brat, she had the privilege of living in other states like Utah, Texas, Washington, and NYC.

She adores historical romances, but oddly enough, she usually wrote contemporary or paranormal.

Apart from being an author, she has also worked as an actress, artist, clerk, door-to-door salesperson, theater technician, model, nanny, rancher, veterinary assistant, receptionist, demo person, and professional student.

All of those have served to prepare for her current role as a mother. But her husband wished she had chosen a career that paid better. She has always been passionately interested in biology and enjoys photography.

Some of her books are The Stormclyffe Affair, Strawberry Wine, Sudden Legacy, and Mine to Love (Copper Creek 1).

Jesse and Kristy, Parents of Three Children

In their marital life, the lovely couple have welcomed three children, including Brecken. They have two daughters named Karis and Seren. Jesse has a private Instagram account, whereas Kristy constantly shares her kids’ pictures.

She also sometimes promotes her son’s series by sharing the post on her Instagram.

Before welcoming the famous actor, they gave birth to their oldest child, Karis Merrill. She is a talented actress, singer, and model. Jesse frequently shares Karis’ performing photos.

Brecken Merrill is the middle child of the couple. After that, the pair were blessed with their younger daughter, Seren.

In the end, the family of five is enjoying their life. Brecken is fortunate to have such supportive parents.
