Ava DuVernay hasn’t tried to hide her relationship status and delivers the answer behind leading a solo life. In an interview with Instyle, she shared about prioritizing her career over having children and starting a marital life with a husband.
In the actress’s own words, “I didn’t have kids by choice, and I’m not married by choice. I was able to embrace my career later in life, in my 30s. So I’m going to do what feels good to me, and I’m going to have fun”.
Currently, Ava’s sole focus belongs to her work, which has also been part of her interview conversation most of the time. As per the INDEPENDENT, she explained, “My work is my heartbeat, and I enjoy doing it, so I always resented it being called something negative.”
It is clear from her statement that the beautiful lady’s prime focus is her career, as mentioned in several interview sessions, including the conversation with The Cut.
In that interview session, she explained she was living a dream, which was getting to make film and TV, telling stories from any platform she wanted.
The fantastic filmmaker’s prime focus is giving the audiences entertaining films and TV shows. She is the writer of the upcoming television movie entitled Battle of Versailles.

Rumored Relationship with the Rapper Common
Ava DuVernay made headlines when she was rumored to be dating the American rapper Common. As per Meaww, rumors of Common dating her were fueled when he made some of the music for her movie Selma.
During the filming and promotion of Selma, they reportedly fell in love. The alleged couple was found to be cozy with each other during the promotional period of that movie.
Both shared laughs and enjoyed while talking about some memorable moments during the shooting of Selma.
It was also noted that Ava and Common even went on dates and were spotted cuddling and kissing while walking around Los Angeles.
