The only information available linking Sunjata to relationship and dating life is from the 2000s. During this time, the actor was seen with his supposed girlfriend, Rosalva Sierra, on multiple occasions.

Daniel Sunjata and Rosalba Sierra sparked rumors when the pair were spotted together on August 8, 2006, in SoHo. A year after their first sighting, the couple attended a cocktail party in celebration of Dani Shapiro’s new book, Black & White.

After his role as a gay character, Darrenb Lemmings, in Take Me Out, Sunjata was speculated to be gay.

The portrayal was so realistic that guys started to ask him out. Another factor that might have aggravated the rumor could be his love life, which he kept low-key.

Further, his attractive appearance in several intimate scenes has exerted influence on some audience members of the male persuasion, which the actor has replied to by saying thanks but no thanks.

So, Sunjata had cleared the air for any speculation regarding his sexuality.

He further added ”I’m somebody who, although he happens to be straight, has no qualms about portraying a character who follows an alternative lifestyle,” as per reports by the New York Times.

In an interview with Buzzfeed in 2015, Sunjata talked about his opinion on several topics, such as songs, characters, and favorite books. One of the highlights of the interview was his take on dating in the workplace.

He was asked if he would date anyone in the workplace, and he replied with a “huge nay.” Sunjata revealed that he had been religiously following the rule since he was at grad school at New York University.

The Tony nominee further added that dating in the workplace could hamper the environment. So, Saunjata does not allow his emotion to affect his professional career.

Daniel Sunjata’s Struggle & Thought On His Mother

Born on December 30, 1971, in Evanston, Illinois, USA, Sunjata was adopted by a white couple when he was two months old. The actor was told his father was Black and his mother was a White teen-runaway.

So, Sunjata had issues with prejudice, tolerance, and identity from an early age. It was tough for the actor growing up for the actor as a “half-breed” in a White neighborhood in Chicago.

When speaking about his mother with the New York Times, Daniel Sunjata said, ”I never met the woman, but I feel a real gratitude to my mother for making the decision she did, giving me up for adoption instead of raising me herself, or aborting me,” he said.

”Otherwise, I might not even exist. And I certainly wouldn’t be here.”
