“One day last summer, it started to downpour, and instead of rushing to the subway, we enjoyed the moment together while dancing around.” It sounds like the scene straight out of The Notebook, doesn’t it?
However, Sam Cieri’s girlfriend, Mackenzie Lesser – Roy penned this anniversary wish to commemorate their first anniversary in March 2020.
Although the pair started dating in 2019, Mackenzie had already held a special place in Sam’s heart for over three years.
From Friends to Lovers
Sam and Mackenzie’s love story evolved from the depths of friendship and blossoming through a simple confession.
A screenshot Mackenzie shared on Feb 14, 2020, unveils that Sam had a massive crush on her for over three years.
In the heartfelt Valentine’s Day text, he writes, “We might never share anything more than this amazing friendship, but I will always find myself hopelessly falling for you.”
Unbeknownst to them, a conversation shared in February 2019 would forever alter the course of their relationship.
A year later, as they celebrated their first Valentine’s as a couple, Mackenzie revealed that she had already fallen for him.

Although the couple never shied away from sharing their love and admiration on social media, their online presence has grown quiet since late 2020.
In the meantime, Mackenzie came out as bisexual, and Sam is still nowhere in the picture.
