Judge Dorothy W. Nelson Was Her Wedding Officiant
In May 2022, Judge Dorothy W. Nelson was the guest for the 69th episode of The Tanya Acker Show. She introduced Dorothy as her first boss when she was out of law school, and she worked as her law clerk.
To many’s surprise, Tanya also revealed that Judge Dorothy officiated her wedding.
Throughout the show, they covered a wide range of topics, including why Dorothy chose to become a lawyer and how it was being a young woman lawyer, among others.
Tanya and Dorothy also talked about Dorothy’s marital life with her husband, James F. Nelson. The pair had exchanged marital vows in 1950 and were married until James’ passing in 2011. The couple also shared two children.

Alongside other things, Tanya and her partner also have a painting of an American flag, a home office where the judge can work, and plenty of houseplants and greenery.
