The HGTV’s beloved real estate developer, Mika Kleinschmidt, is a proud mother to her daughter, Jade Kleinschmidt.
Contrary to popular belief, Mika’s daughter is not adopted. Jade is the biological baby from a previous relationship. As for Jade’s biological father, his identity has not yet been disclosed.
Jade Kleinschmidt was born in February 2009. Although her biological dad remains away from the limelight, she shares a beautiful bond with her ‘bonus dad,’ Mika’s husband, Brian Kleinschmidt.
The couple met almost a decade after meeting one another in high school. They both had different partners before rekindling their connection.
Mika was already a mom to Jade when they reconnected after Brian parted ways with his ex-wife, Ericka Dunlap, in 2011.
Growing Up in a Blended Family
Despite not sharing a biological bond, Mika’s husband, Brian, is happy to be a ‘bonus dad’ to Jade. The family of three is, in fact, proving the beauty of blended families in this modern era.
Further, Mika’s beau also took to social media to share his excitement about being a bonus parent. The house renovator wrote, ” Jade you are the COOLEST! So proud to be your Bonus Dad!” on the occasion of National Daughters Day.
Brian regularly expresses his admiration for Jade, celebrating her milestones. His unwavering support for his daughter shows the power of love and acceptance is beyond biological ties.
Their family grew close as Mika and Brian got married in 2015. Joyfully, Mika shared a photo of her mini-me and paternal grandparents, expressing how fortunate Jade is to have such a big blended family.
Mika also expressed her gratitude for Brian on Fathers’ Day, sharing a picture of the Kleinschmidt family. She captioned, “Jade and I can never be grateful enough for everything Brian has given us. Happy Father’s Day.”

Mika’s Daughter Turned 14 In 2023
Mika often shares glimpses of the cherished moments between mother and daughter.
From heartfelt birthday wishes to memories of their adventures, Mika’s love for her baby girl shines through her posts. She recently celebrated her only child’s 14th birthday.
Like always, the HGTV star took to Instagram to wish her daughter, Jade, a happy birthday. In a throwback video, she captioned, “Happy Birthday to our not so little anymore Princess Jade.”
She continued, “The time seems to speed up every year, and I am an emotional mess on her turning 14 today. It’s bittersweet, but we are so proud of the young lady she is becoming and can not wait for her to conquer all her dreams.”
Similarly, Jade’s dad shared throwback pictures of them, Jade as a kid, Mika, and himself, captioning, “I blinked, and she’s 14.” with a crying emoji. Brian added, “Happiest birthday to my forever little princess Jade.”
On her 13th birthday, Mika’s husband wished Jade saying she was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He lovingly wrote that no gift could surpass the love & joy she brings to his life.

Back in Jan 2023, Mika shared an adorable picture of the mom-daughter selfie with the caption, “Bring your daughter to work is the best! Pretty soon, I’ll be Jade’s design assistant.”
Jade helped her parents transform a house by designing several Disney-inspired rooms for their clients in an April 2022 100-Day Dream Home episode.
Mika’s husband, Brian, shared the episode’s teaser on his Instagram after its release.
Besides finding her passion in the design world, Jade loves being active. She is a student-athlete who joined a rowing team and often competes in races.
The doting mom shared a video of Jade in the water, writing, “This girl has raced three back-to-back races with no breaks and has been here since 6 am.”
The proud mom continued, “Rowing has taught her discipline and how to be a part of something bigger than herself.”
