According to Matthew Kolken, the recollection of the memories of his wife Natasha Kolken’s diagnosis set him through a range of emotions. His spouse’s stage four tumor was discovered in May 2019 when the couple was at the best period of their married life.

Sadly, Matthew’s better half passed away on October 27, 2020. After her demise, he started his journey as a voice of reason regarding cancer awareness.

Matthew’s Wife Needed Intensive Care

Matthew and Natasha became aware of her diagnosis when she got a cyst removed from her ovary. The process of her surgery had led doctors to find cancer in her stomach.

Eventually, the two visited Weill Cornell Medicine and met Dr. Manish Shah, who specialized in gastric oncology. During her treatment, Natasha received immunotherapy twice a month, which boosted her body’s immune system.

However, as Natasha’s condition got worse, she was admitted to the ICU for further medical attention.

It was later stated by Matthew that her condition was stable. He then thanked all those who had prayed and wished for the well-being of his wife.

Matthew further added it was at times like these he was reminded of the power of kindness in people.

But sadly, she lost her battle. Matthew requested his friends and family to keep his wife in their thoughts and prayers.

Besides, after her death, Matthew shared his dissatisfaction regarding Natasha’s funeral. As she lost her life during the pandemic, he was allowed just 30 attendees at her service.

Matthew and Natasha Got Married in 2006

The couple tied the knot on December 31, 2006. The ceremony was held at Temple Beth Zion, which united Matthew L. Kolken and Natasha G. Levin.

Further, the couple exchanged nuptial vows before Rabbi Harry Rosenfeld, and the reception for the wedding was held in Statler Towers.

The bride, Natasha, was the daughter of Fay and Gregory, who were from the Town of Tonawanda. Whereas the bridegroom, Matthew, is the son of Elizabeth and Robert Kolken of Buffalo.

Besides, before her untimely departure. Matthew’s wife had worked as a purchasing agent for Buffalo Wheelchair, West Seneca. Additionally, she graduated from Buffalo State College.

Whereas Matthew works as an attorney. He was a partner in the law firm of Sacks, Kolken & Schultz. He completed his studies at the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law and the University of the Pacific.

The newlywed couple made Buffalo their home after their marriage and went on a trip to the Caribbean.

Was a Mother of Two

After their marriage, the couple were blessed with two beautiful children. They welcomed twins Alexander and Katherine.

Unfortunately, the twins lost their mother right after they celebrated their 12th birthday. Despite the passing of his wife, Matthew has remained an ideal father figure and continues to raise his children with utmost love and dedication.

In addition, both of them are pretty athletic.

Matthew has stated that after her death, he is not just turning a new page in life but starting a new book altogether.

Furthermore, he took to Twitter to share his journey with his late wife. In the tweet, Matthew wrote, “I fell in love with this angel of a woman at first sight. She gave me two beautiful children and the fifteen most loving and memorable years of my life. I will love you forever, my sweetest Natasha. You were the love of my life..”
