Andy Bassich re-joined the cast of Life Below Zero in 2019 and was back in action in Alaska. However, the television personality was using crutches in the show. It turned out he had sustained a hip injury and spent six months recovering with his girlfriend.
He is mostly recognized as one of the important characters in National Geographic’s Life Below Zero. In the respective show, Andy stars along with other famous personalities such as Jessie Holmes, Sue Aikens, and Agnes Hailstone.
Andy Bassich’s Girlfriend Helped Him in His Recovery
According to Distractify, in the winter of 2018, Andy sustained a hip injury while he was moving a snow machine that was stuck in the snow. The TV personality explained that he ended up having two infections, one in the bone and the other in the muscle.
Apart from his injury, his fans were also curious to learn about his girlfriend, Denise Becker. When he first went to the show, he was married to Kate Rorke, but they split in 2015.
Andy’s new girlfriend was revealed to be a trauma nurse from Florida. The pair met each other while Denise was on a canoe trip with a Boy Scouts troop she led.
Denise was born in Canada and grew up knowing what hard work was about. Her folks homesteaded on a farm in northern Saskatchewan. So, she insisted she could hang out with Andy Bassich in the Alaskan wilderness.
Andy expressed he could not survive in Alaska without her help and said, “If I didn’t have a partner to help me, there’s no way I could’ve come back here and accomplished what I need to do.”
He further added that he needed not to make it worst by hurting himself and keeping his expectations low.

Andy Bassich’s Girlfriend Has a Daughter
As per the report by Reality TitBit, Denise has a daughter named Devan. The report also claimed that she celebrated her birthday on June 9. Further, she described her daughter as smart, independent, and vivacious.
Andy’s girlfriend has expressed her love for Devan regularly on her Facebook account. Recently, she posted a series of pictures of her daughter on the occasion of National Daughter Day.
Apart from working as a trauma nurse, Denise also described herself as a photographer in her Instagram profile. Further, Denise relocated with her boyfriend to Alaska, where the couple traveled with their sled dogs.
Besides Denise’s love for her husband, she is also extremely affectionate for the sled dogs they own. She occasionally posts pictures of the dogs on her Instagram account, showcasing her gratitude as they help the couple in their daily commute.

Andy Bassich Was a Married Man
Before he was committed to his girlfriend Denise Becker, Andy was previously married to his former wife Kate Rorke. Fans got to know Andy’s ex-wife back in 2013 when she was married to the TV personality.
According to Distractify, Kate was not originally from Alaska but decided to move north with Andy, whom she met while on vacation, and they got married shortly after.
Sadly, their married life would not last as they had hoped for, as the former couple split in 2015. A year later, their divorce was finalized, and Kate moved away.
Regarding their separation, Kate expressed that Andy was mentally and physically abusive, and she had enough.
Besides, after her split from Andy, she decided to leave the reality television show as well. Regardless, Kate keeps the fans of the show updated about her personal life on her Facebook account.
However, she has not posted anything on her social media, which suggested Kate was in a relationship or married to anyone.
So, it seems like the former wife of the TV personality is currently single or keeping her love life private as of this writing.
